After realizing I watch mostly one hour dramas... and The Office... I decided to check out 30 Rock. Two discs into the first season, I'm hooked. I can't believe I'm actually going to say this, but, Alec Baldwin is hilarious. Two Baldwin brothers on TV on back to back nights? I'm not sure I can handle it. Though in the realm of celebrity siblings, I will take the Baldwins over the Hiltons in primetime anyday.
"Tracy, if it'd make you anymore comfortable... I will loan you a handgun." For whatever reason, that sounds hilarious coming from Alec Baldwin.
Tracy Morgan as Tracy Jordan and Tina Fey as Liz Lemon are also great in it... palpable awkwardness is comedy at its best to me, and Tina Fey does awkward as well as anyone.
Beyond the new obsession... the Desperate Housewives premiere was borderline disappointing. I don't like the easy out w/ Edie... they really would've shaken things up if her character actually died. The show needs a little jostling. I didn't watch the Rock of Love finale because of it and I feel like I may have actually chosen wrong. That's frightening.
And last but not least... another TV obsession came back tonight. Brothers & Sisters! I do have to say, episodes are better when Dave Annable is on screen, but I do adore the Walker clan. Nora and Kitty may be the main characters of the show, but I think the real magic lies in story lines involving Sarah and Kevin. I do have to say, I think the show will have jumped the shark if Senator McAllister wins the presidential election. It seems like the show is on the right track so far for the season... and my only request is for more Kevin! (and Justin. He doesn't have to talk... just put his face on the screen).
