Liz Lemon, I love you.

I spent the end of August getting myself into NBC comedy... it's somewhat reminiscent of the Friends/Will & Grace days. Along with my excitement over the debut of Pushing Daisies last week, I was happier to remember that 30 Rock was back! Tina Fey, as I have mentioned before, is my "girl crush." And as much as I want to hate them... I can't help but loving Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) and Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan).

30 Rock came back with a bang... a bang that involved a newly-singly Miss Liz purchasing her dream wedding dress... and taking it to work with her... and wearing it to give Jerry Seinfeld a tour of the studio. Many other shows could make such a story line obnoxious and eye-roll-worthy. But in the case of 30 Rock, it only served to make Liz Lemon more lovable and endearing. Besides that... she called it a $4000 napkin.

The only person I wasn't sold on was Jenna (Jane Krakowski). The excessive face-stuffing was semi-funny but it came on the heels of a similar story line on Ugly Betty (though the eating was for other reasons, obvi)... so that took away from it. Plus, who can match the outstanding Beckie Newton in amusing overeating department this season? Certainly not Jane.

The Jerry Seinfeld storyline's main point of amusement was the obvious obsession of Kenneth the Page with Mr. S. I was slightly distracted with the Donaghy/Seinfeld scenes because they felt more like Baldwin/Seinfeld scenes. And yet again, I request more Twofer... he's the most under-utilized character on that show.

But the abundance of Liz made me happy. Then again, Tina Fey could make a phone book amusing.
